What we love about this job is sheer variety of restoration and retail items we get to deal with. Today we’ve gone from finishing off an early 20th century valet mirror to treating the rust on a couple of 1950s vintage dog beds. No two days are the same!
Valet mirrors are a relic from a lost era, when everyone made an effort before setting out through the front door. The small mirror would have hung in the hallway so you could check your hair or hat was in place, while the box held your gloves or clothes brush. Today, they’re a great place to store the car keys!
